Head Coach Craig Whiteley

Head Coach Craig Whiteley is in his 7th year as Head Coach of the Scouts girls tennis team and 6th year as Head coach of the Scouts boys program. In 2011 he was named Berks County High School Coach of the Year after leading the Lady Scouts to a record setting 14-0 regular season and a 15-2 overall record.

Coach Whiteley is a graduate of Reading High School and East Stroudsburg State College earning a degree in health and physical education. He was a four year player for the East Stroudsburg Warriors tennis team, and was a PSAC semi-finalist at flight 4 singles as a sophomore. As a senior, Whiteley won the PSAC Flight 6 Singles Championship. Coach Whiteley taught physical education in Reading School District for 31 years. He has competed in numerous USTA Tennis Tournaments as a junior and as an adult.

Coach Whiteley has a vast background in tennis instruction, teaching the game on Reading playgrounds, in the United States Navy, and at the Green Valley Country Club in Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania. He was an assistant to the Conrad Weiser boys tennis program for 6 years and with the Conrad Weiser girls program for 1 year before being named Head Coach of the girls program in 2005 and also taking over as head coach for the boys team in 2007.  Coach Whiteley has coached Scouts boys tennis team to two division titles and the girls team to their first division title since 1965.
